February 5, 2016

Lately it may seem that almost every day of the year is another holiday to celebrate, but February 9th is one that you may want to skip. It’s National Toothache Day, and it’s one holiday that most people would rather not celebrate. Here at Advanced Endodontics of Westchester, we do our best to make sure that none of our patients have to suffer from a toothache for long, thanks to our options for emergency dental care. We are here to help when you need a root canal in Mt. Kisco, NY so that February 9th can be just a regular Tuesday that doesn’t involve dental pain.

Preventing Toothaches

While you may not be able to prevent every instance in which you must turn to emergency dental care, there are a few things that you can do to reduce your chances of getting a toothache.

  • Brush at least twice a day: Frequent, consistent brushing prevents plaque from building up on your teeth, which can lead to decay.
  • Floss every day: Even regular brushing can’t get those hard to reach spots between your teeth, so pull out the floss on a daily basis.
  • Eat and drink the right foods: Food and drinks that are high in added sugars can contribute to tooth decay, so stick to healthy options instead.
  • Schedule an appointment: If you do begin to notice pain in one or more of your teeth, do not hesitate to call to schedule a root canal in Mt. Kisco, NY.

Clean, healthy teeth are less likely to attract the bacteria that can wreak havoc on the overall health of your mouth.

Avoid Celebrating This Year

While National Toothache Day can serve as a good reminder to keep up with your good oral hygiene habits, you don’t have to celebrate this year or in the years to come. Give Dr. Kolnick a call at 914-750-4034, especially if you are experiencing pain.
