How LANAP® Works

LANAP® stands for Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure and is a method for laser gum surgery. When gum disease is left to its own devices, it leads to an infection in the gums that can cause them to recede. This exposes more of the tooth, sometimes even reaching the roots and making the teeth more sensitive to hot and cold foods and drinks.

Dr. Codelli uses the minimally invasive LANAP® procedure, which uses an intelligent laser to target damaged tissue and eliminate it. The laser is able to distinguish healthy tissue from diseased tissue, which means less cutting away of healthy tissue during treatment.
